Captain Celluloid vs. the Film Pirates

This 1966 silent film belongs to the rare category of films made by film lovers for film lovers and about film lovers. Long before the dissemination of the video copy or the emergence of the internet, Captain Celluloid is fighting the evil Master Duper and his criminal gang, the League of Film Pirates, who illegally procure classical films, above all the D.W. Griffith film “Greed”, copy them and sell them on to eager film collectors around the world.

This cult film will be set to music in the tradition of the Adventure Serials of the 1930s and ‘40ies by the Flava Sauce trio and keyboard virtuoso Valentin Bächi. Together with Manu Rindlisbacher on electric bass and Tobias Hunziker on drums they will musically arrange and interpret this action loaded storyline made of fight scenes and vintage science fiction.
